 Wow! More than just a 60's/70s mood -- great songs here November 9, 2008

Don't have a lot of time to detail all the songs, but will just say that this was a very pleasant surprise! If you dig the late 60's/early 70's era of soul/R&B/early funk, you will really enjoy this sampler. Think James Brown, Booker T, B.T. Express, AWB and so forth and you'll get the vibe.
I'm looking forward to getting more material from these artists. What a welcome relief from all the electronic, over-processed sludge out there! This disk is cookin' with funky R&B grooves and lots of big brass, rhythym guitar and organ flourishes.
This will rock your multi-cultural basement party. Now dance!

It is good to hear some good old R&B. As much as I like the new stuff, you can't beat the old sound. Highly recommend.

I just love the brass and rythym of the tracks on this compilation. I downloaded the MP3 version as a bit of a lark when it was on special price. I've listened a couple of times now and I've found myself tapping my toes to the beat each time. I'm no R&B expert by any means but I like the sound of these artists.
